Digital Device Use, Computer Vision Syndrome, and Sleep Quality among an African Undergraduate Population

Background. The purpose of the study was to determine prevalence computer vision syndrome (CVS) and poor sleep quality among university students assess relationship between digital device usage, CVS, quality. Methods. A cross-sectional including undergraduate conducted in Ghana January–March 2020. Information on use CVS symptoms collected using a structured questionnaire. Sleep assessed Pittsburgh Quality Index (PSQI). Logistic regression used behavior, linear analysis explore association behavior. Statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Results. Mean (SD) age participants 20.95 (1.68) years most (54.97%) them were females. 64.36%. Factors associated with included hours per day (OR = 4.1, id="M2">p 0.001), 3.0, id="M3">p adjustment screen contrast surrounding brightness 1.95, id="M4">p 0.014), presence glare 1.79, id="M5">p 0.048). Prevalence 62.43%. There significant number had ( id="M6">p 0.015) they id="M7">p 0.005). Conclusion. is high both Ghana. This represents public health issue that needs attention.
